The Third Attempt Success Coaching (TASC) program is designed to assist the students of Eberly College to persist and progress through their introductory STEM courses. If a student should need a third attempt at a 100-level course in CHEM or MATH, this program will provide the student with a personal Success Coach trained to identify areas of strength and which skills could be enhanced to increase the probability of improved learning and course success.
Success Coaching includes three semesterly one-on-one meetings with a professional coach and learning consultations within the STEM Learning Center. The one-on-one meetings will center around the development of skills required for successful completion of the course and will occur at strategically selected times throughout the semester to track each student’s progress through their third course attempt.
For Students
Students will be expected to meet with the STEM Learning Center Coordinator three times throughout the semester for Success Coaching. When coming to a coaching meeting, students should be prepared to discuss their current grade in the course, learn new study techniques and skills to aid in their success, and report any actions taken and the results from prior coaching sessions. In addition, a requirement of the TASC program will be to attend a predetermined number of learning consultations within the STEM Learning Center.
